Full-Time Licensing Engineer
SHINE is immediately seeking a Licensing Engineer to assist the company in the preparation and submittal of an operating license application to the NRC, the preparation and submittal of permit and license applications to other applicable regulatory agencies, and to ensure ongoing compliance with all licenses and permits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing input to the operating license application, including Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) sections and the programs described therein, and the oversight of vendor deliverables to ensure regulatory, quality, budget and schedule objectives are met. Additionally, the Licensing Engineer will prepare Licensing correspondence to the NRC (e.g., amendments, responses to requests for additional information (RAIs), exemption requests). It is anticipated that this position will transition from the design and licensing phase, through construction and into supporting the operation of the facility including regulatory compliance.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with nuclear facility operations or equivalent experience such as a Licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO). The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years licensing experience and prior experience in the areas of license application development for nuclear facilities. Candidates must also have thorough knowledge of NRC Rules, Regulations, Organization, Processes, Procedures, Instructions, Inspections, Enforcement, and in-depth understanding of relevant portions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
